Steve Muth
Co-Founder
Steve Muth was the father of Zachary Ernest Muth, from which the company name ZEM Life Device Company derives, and is a Co-Founder of the company. His 17 years in the business development, fundraising, finance, hardware, and software worlds have given him the wisdom, experience, and skills to launch this product and company so that it can help save the lives of other people's children who are struggling with substance use disorder.
His career has included incredible accomplishments, including raising over $1.0 billion in completed offerings for UPS, Unisys, and Continental Airlines, the financing of Frontier Airlines, Good Times Restaurants, and other well-known companies. Mr. Muth also worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland in the regional sales of banking network with hardware and software. For the last three years, he has helped people through devastation as the Executive Director of the Board for Palms 23 Foundation.
Mr. Muth possesses a deep desire and will to prevent another child from dying alone from a drug overdose or unexpected death. He firmly believes that no parent should have to go through what he did when he lost his only child to an overdose. The development of the ZEM Life Device Company wearable auto-injecting device is the result of his determination and fortitude.
Joanna D. Sawyer, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Meston will function as the Chief Medical Officer for ZEM Life Device Company. She is board certified as an anesthesiologist.
She is skilled in performing and supervising anesthesia for adult inpatients and outpatients as well as pediatrics in several medical specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, urology, neurology, trauma, and acute pain.
As a long-practicing medical expert, she is keenly knowledgeable about Naloxone and Narcan and their impacts on those who use it, as well as correct dosing specifications. She is instrumental in advising the company on medical and pharmaceutical requirements and guidelines.
Chris Sawyer
Chief Engineer
Chris Sawyer is the Chief Engineer of ZEM Life Device Company and was instrumental in creating the diagrams for the wearable auto-injecting device.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Colorado State University. He is currently employed as a senior robotics software engineer and architect, where he revamped and administered the company's tooling strategy in regard to documentation storage, code repository, and data backup, among other highly technical skills.
